New Zealand celebrates 11 public holidays a year. These public holidays are observed on the actual date. However, if Christmas and New Year holidays fall on a weekend, the following Monday and Tuesday of each are granted as holidays. If Waitangi Day and ANZAC Day fall on a weekend, there is no alternative holiday.
